We break down the Week 15 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers won a big game against the rival Seattle Seahawks last week and will look to build on that against the Buccaneers. There's no doubt tight end Vernon Davis will play a big role for the team going into Week 15. Davis has touchdowns in four straight games and five scores in the last six. He's only eclipsed 100 yards receiving once this year but is usually a good bet for a handful of catches. There is no doubt he'll be starting for his fantasy owners this week.
When the 49ers decide to run the ball, they'll count on running back Frank Gore to penetrate a strong Bucs run defense. Although Gore couldn't find the end zone against Seattle last week, he did rush for 110 yards. He should be in most starting lineups fantasy-wise, especially in deep leagues.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers have surprised a few teams and put together several wins lately. Quarterback Mike Glennon is one of the reasons why. He's a borderline fantasy starter at best, and even then only in deep leagues. That said, he's only a rookie. So far this year he's shown he can put together some solid efforts and he connects well with wide receiver Vincent Jackson.
Jackson has only been catching a small number of passes of late, but he's still posting decent yardage totals. He caught his sixth touchdown of the season against the Buffalo Bills last week and he'll no doubt be Glennon's top target going into the game against the 49ers.
